Car Crashes Into Front Of House In Westchester

A car slammed into the front of a Westchester duplex overnight, damaging a brick wall and causing the evacuation of residents.

No one was seriously injured when a man drove his car into the front of a Yonkers duplex.

The incident took place around 2:49 a.m. Friday when the car slammed into a house at 73 Shonnard Place, said Yonkers Police Det. Sgt. Dean Politopoulos.

The driver, who apparently lost control of the vehicle, was taken to a hospital for minor injuries. No one inside the home was injured, he said.

The duplex had to be evacuated until the city building inspector assessed the damage, he added.

The car was removed by 9:30 a.m. Friday.
